The municipality presents potential tourist resources classified as Natural, Historical-monumental and Cultural, of incalculable symbolic and cultural environmental value, capable of contributing to the improvement of the population's living conditions (employment and income) through the implementation of sustainable tourism projects.
The tourist potential is fundamentally related to the physical-geographical nature of the region, characterized by its geology and geomorphology with excellent virgin and deserted beaches suitable for sun and beach tourism, sports tourism (fishing, aquatic and underwater activities, among others), river-lacustrine tourism (boat/barge trips) on the Balombo River and the Tapado River lake (Tapado River beach).
The geological formations, such as those observed on Kuhula beach and along the banks of the Balombo River from its mouth northward from the town of Kakale and elsewhere, are perfectly suited for geotourism, which can be combined with speleological tourism due to the karst relief that forms some caves in the area.
In turn, the relief, characterized by some elevations and hills, facilitates the practice of adventure tourism, such as hang gliding, paragliding, and even sport hunting near Muri beach (south of the communal headquarters). All this natural heritage is combined with historical and cultural richness, offering ample opportunities to promote cultural tourism.
