Caotinha is one of the most emblematic natural destinations on the Angolan coast, standing out for its high scenic, ecological, and tourist value. It is a unique coastal formation, marked by reddish cliffs, long stretches of fine sandy beaches, and natural pools that form among the rocks during low tide. The contrast between the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean and the warm tones of the rocks gives Caotinha a striking scenic beauty, making it a privileged location for photography, contemplation, and leisure.

Transformed into a place of passage, Caota deserves closer attention. Walking along this white sandy beach nestled between hills that cut into the sea conveys a sense of tranquility, without the sometimes uncomfortable bustle of the main beaches along this coastline. Here, the waters are crystal clear and life follows the rhythm typical of small seaside communities. Colorful trawlers come and go. Men launch their small wooden boats into the sea, rowing until they reach fishing grounds known only to them, abundant in these waters. On land, fish dry under the scorching sun, ready to become a local delicacy.

Morro do Sombreiro — Morro do Sombreiro is a mountain located in Benguela. After a stone lighthouse was built in 1969, it became a tourist landmark. The route to reach the hill consists of trails through remote areas, ideal for more adventurous visitors. Upon reaching the top, you will find a 180-degree view of the sea. The beach below displays various shades of blue and green with white sands and can only be accessed by boat. From the summit, to the right, there is a view of the entire coastline from Santo António Beach, passing through Morena Beach and ending near Catumbela. To the left, you can see the tip of Baía Farta.

Caota Plateau — The Caota Plateau is recognized as an area of high archaeological interest, featuring remains associated with the Paleolithic, the earliest period of human history. In the region, stone tools and worked stone fragments have been identified, indicating the presence of prehistoric human groups who used the plateau as an area for movement, shelter, and tool production. The geographical characteristics of the territory—altitude, ancient soils, and rocky outcrops—created favorable conditions for human occupation and the preservation of these materials over thousands of years.
The remains of the Caota Plateau are part of a broader set of archaeological sites in Angola, reinforcing the country’s importance in the study of African prehistory and the evolution of early human communities on the continent.

House of the Priests — The former House of the Priests, located at the top of the hill with direct access to Praia dos Padres via a staircase, was not primarily intended for religious activities or liturgical celebrations on site. Its use was instead associated with a space for support, rest, and retreat.
Priests who served in missions in the interior of the country, often under demanding and isolated conditions, used this house as a temporary refuge when traveling to the coastal area of Benguela. It was a place where they could recover their energy, enjoy moments of leisure, breathe the sea air, and maintain direct contact with nature before returning to their missions.

More than just a stretch of sand, this place combines scenic value, historical memory, and an atmosphere of tranquility that sets it apart from other beaches in the region. A natural refuge by the sea.
The beach is characterized by a calm environment, with light-colored sand, rocky areas, and a sea that varies according to the season. During calmer sea periods, the area becomes particularly inviting for swimming, seaside walks, and moments of contemplation.

It is accessible by going around Morro da Caota and is valued for its natural beauty and tranquility, ideal for families and nature lovers, with road access from Benguela towards Baía Farta.

Transformed into a place of passage, Caota deserves a closer look. Walking along this white sand nestled between the hills that pierce the sea conveys tranquility. Without the sometimes uncomfortable confusion of the main beaches on this coastline.
Here, the waters are crystal clear and life has its own rhythm of small places by the sea. Colorful trawlers come and go. Men launch their small wooden boats into the sea, rowing and rowing as far as only they know where the shoals are, abundant in these waters. On land, the fish dries under the torrid sun, ready to be transformed into delicacy .
The casuarina trees line up here and there, in that shadow that only they know how to project from the top of their sandy feet. Below them, small shipyards hammer out the skeletons of traditional vessels that soon take on shape and stories of sea. Other boats – old, rusty, ghosts – remain stranded in Caota bay.

Blue Bay — It is located south of Praia Morena and is 3 km long. It is located south of Praia Morena and is 3 km long.
It owes its name to the strong blue waters of the region, Baía Azul is considered the "mother" of Benguela's beaches. Of unique beauty, the beach is one of the most important natural tourist destinations in the country.

Baía Farta — Baía Farta is a city and municipality in the province of Benguela, Angola. It covers 6,744 km² and has approximately 110,000 inhabitants. It borders the municipality of Benguela to the north, the municipalities of Caimbambo and Chongoroi to the east, the municipalities of Camacuio and Namibe to the south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. It is an important fishing center. The tip of Baía Farta is teeming with fish gliding in the cold waters of the Benguela Current. A renowned beach, the province's fishing center is a mix of new projects and ruins of what once was.

Macaca Beach — A few kilometers from Baía Farta, on a bend in the road that skirts the semi-desert of central-southern Angola, Macaca is a beach of palm trees and coconut trees, studded with salt flats. Natural heritage that reminds us of the days when Benguela was a serious fishing area.
The monkeys that abound in this area, small and mischievous, gave the name to the beach, which is known in the region for its salt flats – the first to appear in the region, back in the “times of the other lady”.

Praia do Chamume — Chamume beach is a very pleasant place, where the white sand and transparent water are waiting for us to enjoy this magnificent ocean. The access to this beach is simple, starting from Baía Farta, there is a trail that takes us first to Macaca beach and then passing through the salt flats, taking us to Chamume.

Chiome Beach — It is a beautiful beach in Angola, located in the municipality of Baía Farta, in Benguela Province. Known for its natural landscapes and calm waters, it is a leisure and tourism destination in the region.
Stunning landscapes, fine sand, clear and tranquil waters, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the coastal environment. Excellent for swimming, seaside walks, and connecting with nature, offering a peaceful retreat for both residents and visitors.

It borders the municipality of Catumbela to the north, the municipalities of Bocoio and Caimbambo to the east, the municipality of Baía Farta to the south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
The municipality presents potential tourist resources classified as Natural, Historical-monumental and Cultural, of incalculable symbolic and cultural environmental value, capable of contributing to the improvement of the population's living conditions (employment and income) through the implementation of sustainable tourism projects.
The tourist potential is fundamentally related to the physical-geographical nature of the region, characterized by its geology and geomorphology with excellent virgin and deserted beaches suitable for sun and beach tourism, sports tourism (fishing, aquatic and underwater activities, among others), river-lacustrine tourism (boat/barge trips) on the Balombo River and the Tapado River lake (Tapado River beach).
The geological formations, such as those observed on Kuhula beach and along the banks of the Balombo River from its mouth northward from the town of Kakale and elsewhere, are perfectly suited for geotourism, which can be combined with speleological tourism due to the karst relief that forms some caves in the area.
In turn, the relief, characterized by some elevations and hills, facilitates the practice of adventure tourism, such as hang gliding, paragliding, and even sport hunting near Muri beach (south of the communal headquarters). All this natural heritage is combined with historical and cultural richness, offering ample opportunities to promote cultural tourism.

Egypt Beach — Egypt Beach, where the Balombo River flows into the sea, is a place of mystical landscape that transports us to Egypt. The cliffs and crags surrounding the beach, which give it its true beauty, are reminiscent of the Egyptian landscape.

Fort of Saint Sebastian of Egypt — A centuries-old monument of military architecture located on the beach in Egypt.
The “Fort of São Sebastião de Egito”, also referred to as “Fort Egito”, is located on top of a hill in the town of Egito - Praia, in the municipality of Lobito, Benguela province, in Angola.
The toponym "Egito" given to this beach on the left (south) bank of the mouth of the Balombo River is related to the resemblance of the palm groves - "sliding down to the sea" - that its Portuguese settlers associated with that country.

Mouth of the Balombo River — The mouth of the Balombo River, in Egipto Praia, is one of the most striking coastal landscapes in Benguela.
Nestled between cliffs, palm groves, and riverbanks, the Balombo River concludes its journey forming an estuary that concentrates biodiversity, local memories, and enormous potential for nature and cultural tourism. For those seeking authentic places, it's an invitation to walk slowly, observe, and learn.
Egypt Beach is located northwest of the center of Lobito, on a peninsula carved by cliffs and small coves. Its mouth corresponds to Navala Beach, where the river opens up to the sheltered Atlantic Ocean which, depending on the tides and seasons, reveals sandy banks and wetlands.

Egypt Beach Cemetery  — The burial place of the first Soba (chief) of the region;
The Egipto Praia Cemetery is one of the most unique places of memory on the north coast of Benguela. Located in a landscape of cliffs, palm groves and Atlantic breezes, next to the mouth of the Balombo River, this small cemetery is part of the Egipto Praia historical and cultural circuit, in dialogue with the Fort of São Sebastião do Egipto and other local landmarks. For those visiting Lobito with historical curiosity, it is a place that deserves time, silence and respect. The Municipality of Egipto Praia extends northwest of the center of Lobito, in a transition between coastal cliffs and alluvial plains of Balombo. The cemetery is located in the historical center of the town.

Slaves Store — The Slave Shop, in Egipto Praia, is part of the old complex dedicated to the Atlantic slave trade on the central coast of Angola, functioning as a sales/business space adjacent to the Slave Yard (concentration yard). Today, the remaining structures are in ruins, but they preserve great historical and symbolic value as a place of memory. Egipto Praia is located northwest of Lobito, in a landscape of cliffs and palm groves near the mouth of the Balombo River (Navala Beach). Studies and visitor guides document the site and propose its integration into cultural and nature tourism routes. In the local slave trade circuit, the Yard served to concentrate and hold captives; the Shop was the point of transaction before eventual embarkation.

Slave Yard — The Slave Yard, in Egipto Praia, is one of the most striking places of memory on the central coast of Angola.
Here, a concentration and sorting yard for captives operated before their sale and embarkation, forming part of the so-called local Slave Route. Next to it, the "Slave Shop" fulfilled the commercial function of the trade. Today, the complex is in ruins, but it retains strong historical and symbolic value. Egipto Praia is located northwest of Lobito, near the mouth of the Balombo River (Navala Beach), an area of palm groves, artisanal fishing, and great potential for ecotourism. It is a territory with a strong historical and landscape density, combining natural heritage and vestiges of the slave trade period.
