Our Lobito
The origin of the word comes from the noun "pitu", preceded by the classifying particle olu, which would become the term "olupitu", which means the "door or even the passage" that the caravans of porters, when coming down from the hills from the interior, would pass through, before reaching the "commercial square" of Catumbela.
With continued use and time, the proper name emerged, which would lose the initial letter "o", soon becoming "Lupitu" and was translated into Portuguese as "Lobito".Accommodation
