It is very appreciated that we congratulate Jessie Madalena, recently identified as Angola Tourism Ambassador. It is a fair recognition for the work it has been developed in favor of national tourism, in an authentic, critical and dynamic way.

Unlike previous choices, which had little or nothing contributed to the sector, this time we see someone who truly represents Angola and who, in his own way, has disclosed and defended domestic tourism. It is a positive sign of the Ministry of Tourism, which has decided to give visibility to a young Angolan committed to the country.

However, this title cannot only be symbolic. Being Ambassador to Tourism of Angola brings responsibility, but should also bring real working conditions:

• proper financial support;
• tools to continue to promote Angola effectively;
• respect for your critical independence and your experience;
• integration with projects that really strengthen national tourism.

Tourism in Angola faces many challenges; From the weak organization and internal promotion to the forgetfulness of various sights, undergoing connectivity problems and lack of support to local initiatives. September 2025, for example, was one of the worst months when we talked about registered tourist numbers. This shows that it is not enough to invest in external campaigns: it is necessary to organize the sector first inside.
Therefore, this recognition to Jessie Madalena must be accompanied by concrete support, so that her work and her image are not just used by the ministry. The country needs more than beautiful faces: it needs consistent actions and people like Jessie Madalena, who believe and bet on Angolan tourism.
