Ministry of Tourism creates Tourist Support Office

The Executive approved, at a meeting of the Council of Ministers, the Organic Statute of the Ministry of Tourism, a document that creates the Office of Tourist Support, Training and Entrepreneurship and the National Directorate for Project Structuring and Tourist Planning.

The approved statute contains two new areas, which aim to materialize the new strategic vision for the sector, based essentially on the capillarity of the private sector for the development of tourism.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism , the Tourist Support, Training and Entrepreneurship Office is responsible for coordinating all technical and professional training and ensuring the quality of technical and professional staff in the areas of hospitality and tourism, as well as designing policies for access to employment and encouraging entrepreneurship.

Regarding the National Directorate for Project Structuring and Tourist Planning, the approved statute determines that it must create planning plans for previously classified areas of tourist interest, draw up tourist maps and issue opinions on the plans municipal, provincial and national territorial planning, as well as analyzing and issuing technical opinions related to the implementation of areas of tourist interest, among other duties.
