Huambo advances with action plan to boost local tourism
On May 8, 2025, the provincial government of Huambo was held a preparatory meeting with the objective of developing an action plan to promote the provincial's tourism potential. The meeting was attended by representatives of various technical departments of the Provincial Government, including the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, and the Hoteisangola.com team
During the meeting, the Hoteisangola.com Portal team presented a work model based on successful experiences in other regions of the country. The model proposes the inventory and cataloging of sights of interest, with the availability of this information in various ways, including online. In addition, it provides for the development of tourist itineraries that integrate the various points identified.
Another highlighted aspect was collaboration with municipal technicians to perform a detailed inventory and SWOT analysis (forces, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) of each tourist spot. The initiative also includes working workshops designed for potential tour guides, aiming to enable local professionals to meet the growing demand of the sector.
As part of the action plan, the creation of technical records of tourist points and scripts, the production of digital content to be published online, the elaboration of digital magazines, the making of informative posters for local distribution and the development of tourist maps.
This action plan lasts 3 months and intends to be presented to civil society in August.
This initiative represents a significant step in valuing tourism as a tool for economic diversification and sustainable development for the province of Huambo.
From the 17th to the 19th of June 2026, Luanda will become the African capital of investment in tourism, by hosting the Angola Investment Summit, announced the Ministry of Tourism.
