Presentation of the Angola Kitchen and Pastry School - in Benguela
On 10 March, the Angolan School of Cooking and Pastry invited several professionals from the tourism sector to present what will be their training school to open in Luanda.
The event was attended by several professionals from the sector, including representatives from Hoteisangola, who were there to support and celebrate this promising initiative.
The Angolan School of Cooking and Pastry aims to provide a high-quality training experience, where tradition and innovation meet, equipping future chefs and pastry professionals with the necessary tools to stand out in the market. In partnership with the Association of Professional Cooks of Portugal (ACPP), one of the leading communities in the culinary sector in Portugal, the school aims to raise the standard of culinary training in Angola, offering high-quality courses aligned with the best international practices.
During the event, several important topics for the development of the sector in Angola were discussed.
As a contribution, we have put forward some points for debate and future evaluation:
Congratulations on the initiative: The initiative to invest in technical training in cooking and pastry was praised by the management of Hoteisangola, recognizing the importance of investing in the training of local professionals.
Expansion of courses to other provinces: Those responsible were asked to consider creating courses not only in Luanda, but also in other provinces of Angola, such as Benguela, in order to democratize access to quality training throughout the country.
Distance Learning: The implementation of online courses, through distance learning systems, was suggested, so that more people can have access to training, regardless of their geographical location.
Local Bases for Theoretical and Practical Training: The possibility of creating local bases for theoretical training, accompanied by local trainers, complemented by distance learning, was discussed. This approach would allow greater flexibility and adaptation to the specific needs of each region.
Create a Pool of Local Trainers: It was proposed to create a pool of local trainers, qualified to teach courses and workshops, thus ensuring the sustainability and continued growth of the sector.
Access to ACPP Online Courses: It was also suggested that Angolan students could have access to online courses offered by the Portuguese Association of Professional Cooks, further expanding learning and specialization opportunities.
Internship Exchange - Create a structure of professional internships with the aim of guaranteeing employment for recently graduated students
Professional Exchange - Create an exchange of professionals in the area available for consultation and where hotel and restaurant units can find qualified professionals
The event was an important milestone for the culinary sector in Angola, highlighting the commitment of the Angolan Cooking and Pastry School to train qualified professionals who are prepared for the challenges of the market. With the support of strategic partners such as ACPP and the active participation of local professionals.
