
Our Lady of Conception Cathedral is a Catholic religious temple located in a sea border plateau in the city of Sumbe, the capital of Cuanza Sul province in Angola.
The project was created by Portuguese architect Francisco Castro Rodrigues in 1966, and the stability calculations were performed by the engineer.

Built overlooking the Atlantic, Sumbe Cathedral is the city's main Catholic church and the mother church of the Diocese of Sumbe (province of Cuanza Sul).
The building is distinguished by its modern design: geometric volumes, a slender tower, and a large stained-glass window at the front that floods the nave with bluish light at dawn and late afternoon. The complex, simple and elegant.
