Cutembo River Falls

Access is via the road connecting Chongorói to Quilengues, a few kilometres after leaving Chongorói towards Huíla Province, in a region marked by rivers, valleys, and vegetation typical of the southern Angolan plateau.
The Cutembo River flows through an area of irregular and rocky terrain, forming natural waterfalls surrounded by large rocks, ravines, and extensive green areas. During the rainy season, the water flow increases significantly, creating a natural spectacle of great power and beauty, while in the dry season the site reveals a calmer atmosphere, ideal for landscape contemplation and photography.
The Cutembo region is also known for the strategic importance of the bridge over the river, located along the road connection between Benguela and Huíla, one of the main routes linking the coast to the interior of the country. The heavy rains that frequently affect the area demonstrate the strength of the river and the natural dynamics of that mountainous region.

In addition to its scenic value, the Cutembo River Falls have tourism potential that remains largely unexplored.
