Flora endémica da Serra da Chela – Tundavala
Xerophyta capillaris is a plant extraordinarily adapted to the drier environments of Serra da Chela. Its narrow leaves withstand long periods of drought, recovering quickly after the first rains. It produces very showy blue-violet flowers that contrast with the surrounding vegetation. It occurs on cliffs, rocky outcrops and high-altitude fields in Huíla, being one of the species that best represents the adaptation capacity of Angola's endemic flora to extreme environments.
