Flora endémica da Serra da Chela – Tundavala
Berkheya welwitschii is a herbaceous plant endemic to Angola, easily recognized by its large yellow flowers and thorny leaves. It grows in high-altitude fields, mountainous meadows and rocky areas of Serra da Chela, flourishing mainly during the rainy season. Its distribution is limited to the central plateau and the Huíla mountains, being considered a characteristic species of the Angolan high-altitude flora. Its flowers provide food for various pollinating insects.
