Flora endémica da Serra da Chela – Tundavala

Aloe palmiformis is a succulent plant endemic to Angola and one of the most emblematic species of Serra da Chela. It forms rosettes of fleshy leaves and produces red inflorescences that bloom during the dry season, attracting birds and pollinating insects. It grows on cliffs, rocky outcrops and well-drained slopes between 1,500 and 2,200 meters above sea level. Its distribution is mainly concentrated in the province of Huíla, and also occurs in some mountainous areas of Namibe. Its resistance to drought makes it an excellent example of the adaptation of the Angolan flora.
