Matias Rodrigues was a hunter from Catete Province of Bengo, he lived in the Cabir Regedoria Sector, in the village of Ndala. Respected at the time by the people of his area of residence, he was called to intervene in the invasion of the Cuanhama people who wanted to take the region's cattle. The first military post was created in the region belonging to the Caconda command, it is the place where the battles against the Cuanhamas were fought.
