Bright and beautifully decorated, the former dining room of Lurdes Silva — a Portuguese woman who exchanged her homeland for Angola — has been transformed into Restaurant “A República,” a place rich in history and a reference point for gatherings among friends, family, and memorable gastronomic experiences.

Opened in March 2015, “A República” offers a unique culinary fusion, presenting a wide variety of Portuguese and Angolan dishes, full of diverse flavors, complemented by premium service and a welcoming atmosphere.

The grouper rice, the restaurant’s signature dish; lobster curry; fish calulu; or Angolan-style chicken cabidela served with funje are among the most requested dishes by visitors and regular guests. For lovers of Portuguese cuisine, the menu also features a variety of cataplanas, codfish with cornbread crust, and Azorean-style tuna garnished with sweet potatoes.

The wine list highlights renowned producers such as Quinta Vale D. Maria, Quinta da Romaneira, Quinta do Crasto, as well as wines like Arrepiado Collection and Arrepiado Velho Riesling.
