Mouth of the Giraul River

The Giraul rises in Serra da Chela and crosses the entire arid (desert) area of ​​the Namibe province, all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, flowing north of the city of Moçâmedes, in Baía das Pipas.
Its course is quite steep, winding through high hills of rocky terrain.
The Giraul is a river with a torrential regime that becomes more powerful in the months of February and March. Only with heavy rains does this river reach the sea, whose bed runs through vast plantations, sometimes forming true oases.
The tributaries of the Giraul River: The Maconje, Tampa, the Bumbo, Mualongoloca, Tenteca and the Ndiombo.
