Located in Kinjanda, a few kilometers from the Dange River

The Museum of the Tentative, the only one in the Bengo Province, located in Kijanda, in the locality of Porto Kipiri (Dande Municipality), was built in 1932 and reopened on February 4, 2011, after a restoration phase.
In fact, the Museum of the Tentative is a former plantation built between 1932 and 1939 in Bengo Province with the objective of cultivating certain products, with an emphasis on sugarcane.
It consisted of 7,500 workers, of whom 5,000 were dedicated to crop cultivation and the remaining 2,500 worked in processing those products.
Why the name Tentative? Because the Portuguese settlers at the time, upon arriving in Angola, were unfamiliar with the land.
They first attempted to develop sugarcane cultivation in Benguela Province, but its flora and fauna were not favorable.
It was then that they moved to the Alto Ndande area and, believing the land to be fertile, said: why not try?

It was there that, after achieving success, they settled in the area, and from this came the name: Tentative Plantation.
