Flight prices worry families and businesspeople

Currently, domestic flights in Angola have been the target of criticism from travelers, including families and businesspeople, due to the high prices charged by the country's only operating airline, TAAG.
The cost of air tickets has become a significant obstacle to people's mobility, causing a true bottleneck in various sectors, with tourism being one of the most affected.
TAAG, as Angola's main airline, has a monopoly position in the market, which gives it greater freedom to set ticket prices. However, the high cost of domestic flights has generated dissatisfaction and negatively impacted the country's development.
Families wishing to travel within Angola, especially during holidays and festive seasons, face difficulties in affording the airfare. They are forced to find alternative solutions, such as traveling by bus or car.
Likewise, Angolan and foreign businesspeople who need to travel frequently to different regions of the country also face financial difficulties in covering the cost of TAAG flights. These high transportation expenses can jeopardize the financial health of companies and limit their possibilities of expanding business beyond the regions where they are established.
In addition, the tourism industry has been severely affected by the high prices of domestic flights and the lack of alternatives.
