Namibe receives the first batch of camels to promote Tourism

The first batch of 101 camels arrived this week in the province of Namibe, for reproduction and repopulation, as part of promoting tourism in that region.

According to the government of Namibe, another step has been completed in the project aimed at the reproduction and repopulation of camels in the province, which is becoming a pearl of tourism in Angola every day.

With the arrival of these 101 camels, including four males, Namibe now has another tourist product that can be located at the Caraculo Zootechnical station, which is 60 km from the city of Moçâmedes, according to the local government on Facebook.

In addition to being one of the oldest in the world, the Namib Desert has special features such as its connection to the sea and countless dunes as far as the eye can see, immersed in a biodiversity rich in unique species.

"Based on this set of factors, this area of ​​the country is one of the priorities for tourism development and to this end, a set of initiatives have been implemented with the aim of creating ideal conditions for attracting tourists and investors.

Following a public-private partnership project with the United Arab Emirates and the Provincial Government of Namibe, a camel implantation and date production project has been developed.
