Tourist Map of Huíla presented in second public consultation session

The Huíla Tourist Map project was presented on September 15th, in the Huíla Provincial Government Auditorium, in a session dedicated to sharing the work developed and collecting contributions for its final version. This was the second consultation session held as part of the development of this tourist information and promotion tool.
The session was attended by the vice-governor of the province of Huíla,Dr. Maria João Chipalavela, by Dr. Tiago Pinto, from the Provincial Office of Culture and Tourism, and Dra. Tânia, director of the Provincial Environment Office.
Also present were representatives of other departments of the Provincial Government, representatives of OTU and the Association of Tourism Professionals of the Southern Region, as well as businesspeople, students and other participants, who followed the presentation and made their contributions to the development of the project.

A tool to discover Huíla

Developed by the Hotéis Angola team, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Huíla and the Provincial Office of Culture and Tourism, with the support of UNDP, the map aims to give greater visibility to the diversity of attractions in the province and facilitate the discovery of the territory by visitors and residents.
In addition to emblematic places, such as Fenda da Tundavala and Serra da Leba, the project seeks to enhance other points of natural, historical and cultural interest distributed throughout the municipalities of Huíla.
Includes itinerary proposals to explore the province at your own pace, complemented by useful information about accommodation, health services, security, gas stations and ATMs.

Print and digital versions

The map will have a printed version in Portuguese and a digital version in Portuguese and English, with links to complementary content and the possibility of continuous updating.
The digital component will allow you to consult information via your cell phone, access additional content and monitor updates made over time.

Listening to the community before printing

Holding this second consultation session, before completing the project and printing, reinforces the importance of the participation of institutions, tour operators and the community.
The contributions collected help to identify places not yet included, correct information and integrate suggestions, making the map more complete and useful for those who want to get to know the province.

“Putting Huíla on the map” reflects the ambition of this initiative: to make tourist information more accessible, enhance the province’s heritage and encourage the discovery of its different destinations.
