More than seven thousand tourists attracted by the charms of Zaire

Nzuzi Makiese, who spoke during the review of activities carried out last year, made it known that of the total number of tourists, 7,271 were national and 248 were foreigners. The official said that after Covid-19, the region tends to register an increase in tourist visits.
"Compared to the same period last year, I must say that there was an increase of 2,331 tourists, that is, in 2022 the province received 5,188 tourists, including nationals and foreigners, 5,056 nationals and 132 foreigners from different countries", he stated.
According to the director Nzuzi Makiese, tourists of Portuguese, Spanish, Brazilian and Dutch nationalities were those who visited the province of Zaire the most.
For the manager, the Historic Center of Mbanza Kongo, Museum of the Kings of Kongo, Traditional Court (Lumbu), ruins of Kulumbimbi, Cemetery of the Kings of Kongo and relics of the old colonial Palace are the points that most attracted tourists.
Director Nzuzi Makiese said that tourists also visited tourist attractions located in the municipality of Soyo, such as Ponta do Padrão, a landmark of European arrival on Angolan soil, Pedra do Feitiço, Pata de Dona Maria, the Foz of the Zaire river and the Port of Mpinda.
The province of Zaire has registered 43 tourist attractions, distributed across the six municipalities, and a hotel network consisting of eight hotels, with categories ranging from four to one star, 46 guesthouses, 21 inns and two similar ones, totaling 958 rooms and 1,140 beds.
