Lubango hosts World Tourism Day in Angola The municipality of Lubango, capital of Huíla, hosts this Friday, 27th, the central event of the Day Tourism World Cup, in one of the city's units, with a presentation of the potential of the province, as well as the website of the southern tourist region.

The municipality, which has received a wide variety of national and international tourists, was recently voted the best in the country, n Forum of Municipalities and Cities of Angola, held in Malanje.

The event will be attended by the Minister of Tourism, Márcio de Jesus Daniel, members of the Government of Huíla and guests, who will witness a crafts fair, according to the program of activities alluding to the ephemeris of the ministry of responsibility.

The program reserves the pre-opening of the Hotel Yona for the same day , in the province of Namibe, and a Samakaka cloth parade, typical fabric of the region.

For Saturday, the 27th, the day is reserved for a visit to the municipality of Gambos, province of Huíla, specifically the landmark of Amizade Angola-Cuba, to the ex-military Bunker, as well as the packaging of the king of Gambos.

The activities related to the date began today, Wednesday, with the reclassification ceremony of the Hotel Diamante in Luanda. He follows to Cabinda on the 26th with a visit to the Instituto de Fomento Turístico (INFORTUR) school, and the inauguration of the Hotel Complexos Apolónia.

World Tourism Day has been celebrated on September 27th since 1980. The date was established by the World Tourism Organization (OMT), in commemoration of the decade anniversary of the Statute of the World Tourism Organization, and aims to highlight the economic, social and cultural importance of this activity in the world.

Tourism is one of the main sources of income for any country, when it is well exploited, contributing to the development economy and job creation. It is also an important sector for the conservation of historical spaces and monuments.
