Angola exempts citizens from 98 countries from tourist visas

PRESIDENTIAL DECREE

With the aim of simplifying and expediting the tourist visa acquisition process, citizens of 98 countries are exempt from visas to enter Angola.
According to Presidential Decree No. 189/23, published in the Official Gazette, citizens of beneficiary countries will be able to enjoy visa-free tourism, being able to stay up to 30 days per entry and up to 90 days per year.
However, this exemption does not exempt compliance with other formalities, such as the presentation of a valid passport for more than six months and, when necessary, an international vaccination certificate.
The regime provided for in the Presidential Decree applies exclusively to the granting of tourist visas.
For other types of visas, such as work, study, medical treatment, or residence authorization, foreign citizens must apply for the corresponding visa at diplomatic missions or consular posts in their country of origin or habitual residence.
The document establishes that the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Angola must guarantee simplified and streamlined service, with a maximum period of three working days for the granting of tourist visas.
In addition, this type of visa can be obtained through the Official Internet Portal of the Migration and Foreigners Service, with a decision also within three working days.
